How To Collect Your Sample


Before activating your kit, please watch this informative video for the exact steps to swab your throat and nose for your Day 2, Day 5 and Day 8 Tests. Once you have correctly swabbed, please place the swab in the sample tube provided, fabric end first.

Snap off the stick at the breakpoint to ensure none of the germs on your hands gets mixed in with your sample. Place the sample tube in the clear bag provided in your test kit, ensuring it contains an absorbent silica sachet and seal carefully.

Finding Your Specimen Number


Each Covid-19 Test Kit you receive has a unique Specimen Number. In order to activate your Test Kit please locate the number on the (Request Form) Sample Tube found inside the Test Kit box. The Specimen Number is shown beneath the barcode on the top of the Request Form and on your Sample Tube.

1Where can I find the Specimen Number?
Each Covid-19 Test Kit you receive has a unique Specimen Number. In order to activate your Test Kit please locate the number on the Request Form found inside the Test Kit box. The Specimen Number is shown beneath the barcode on the top of the Request Form.
2Do I have to activate each Covid-19 test kit I receive?
Yes. When you receive your Covid-19 Day 2, Day 8 or Day 5 test kit you will need to activate it via the form below.
3Is this information mandatory?
Yes, all information required to activate your Covid-19 Travel Test Day 2, Day 5 and Day 8 is mandatory as per PHE requirements.
4How do I track my order?
Once your order has been dispatched you will receive a tracking order reference number via email and text. When returning your sample please take note of the return tracking reference number affixed to your Free Royal Mail 24-hour priority mail return label.

5How do I return my Test Kit sample?
We have included a pre-paid address label on the back of the test kit box to send the test back to ADNA Laboratory via a post box. When returning your sample by post, please make sure to take note of the postal tracking number.
6Can I leave my house to post my sample?
Yes. You may leave your house to post your test or to travel directly to and from our test sample Centre with a pre-scheduled appointment. You should follow safe travel guidance and avoid public transport if possible.
7How long do results take?
Within 24 to 48 hours of receipt of your sample at our laboratory, it will be analysed, and your results will be delivered securely online via email. Results are only sent to the email address you used in the Activate Kit form below.
8What are the rules for mandatory testing?

Activate Your Kit

Before sending your testing kit to the laboratory, the activation procedure must be completed for your test to be valid and for a sample to be tested when received in our laboratory. Result and certificate will be issued using the details provided during kit activation, there will be no amendment to test certificates once testing is completed. Results are sent within 72 hours of receiving your sample in our laboratory through the email address provided during kit activation.
